In my recent article What Is Lifeonaire I shared a really excellent summary of what it means to be a Lifeonaire from one of my coaching students, and how he goes about making sure he achieves his Vision.
Today, I want to speak about a challenging concept I’ve been sharing in recent years I call “Accelerating the Splat”.
You’ve probably heard the joke before,
“It’s not the fall that kills you, it’s the sudden stop at the bottom.”
And yes, that’s true. But through my own hard struggles in the past, I’ve come to realize that, what’s laughably true in a physical sense, is the opposite of truth in a financial sense, more often than not.
What I mean is this:
Wen you’re in a financial fall, it’s not the ‘splat’ that kills you.
It’s the terrible fall before you hit bottom.
Let me explain—here’s a little video where I make my case through story in under 3 minutes. I hope you’ll take a few moments out of your busy day and really consider this. It’s a really powerful lesson that many people badly need to learn, and sooner than later if possible.
Thank you, and I look forward to reading your comments on what you think about this.
What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments below.

How timely for me, Chuck!
I’m really looking forward to our meeting tomorrow!!
Best regards,

I am not sure what “taking your lumps” looks like. We think we are as low as we can go living in our daughters basement while working on a rehab that is way too expensive.
Very good analogy!
Have been floating just before the splat; ready to levitate.
The fall sucks, and don’t want to splat.
Thank you Chuck!
I remember when I was going through this. It sucked! What you’re saying rings exactly true with what happened.
I know exactly what you mean Chuck. I’ve lived it as well. I didn’t realize it at the time but I was going to hit the wall at some point.
Ended up going through a divorce I never saw coming, and loosing a beautiful house that I had personally built. I knew I had to clean the slate and start over. No, it’s not easy. That’s when things started to change. Even though I don’t have much, I have what I need for now. It’s just nice to be debt free.
My husband and I just started our journey with Lifeonaire and are so very tired of juggling the financial balls. The stress of figuring out each month how were going to pay bills is killing us. We are looking forward to learning a new way and working hard to become debt-free. Thank you, Chuck, for the story of accelerating the splat.
Thanks Chuck. I’ve been in those shoes too. It’s usually my pride that gets in the way of accepting the Splat, and causing the fall to seem endless. I’ve been learning the sooner I can set my pride down, the quicker the real recovery begins.
Perfect hearing this right before my one on one day with Chris Hake. And even better to get your input on this exactly 1 week before my retreat with you as our new coach.
This is exactly exactly exactly what I am, have been dealing with the last 6 months due to a financial turnaround. I’m excited to get your input during my hot seat turn next Wednesday!
You know how God puts things in your face when he knows you need it. Well he just did with you!! I am unfortunately there. This past year has been terrible financially along with the stress. I am splatting……looking forward to a new year, a new me, a new way of life. Just still unsure of a couple of things, whether to let an investment property go and take my losses or put more money into it and go into more debt?
