Stephen Covey used to give the powerful example that if there was a printing error while making maps, and you were accidentally given one labeled “Chicago” that was actually a map of Detroit, can you imagine the frustration, futility, and even danger of trying to reach your destination?

It’s the exact same thing here.

When you aren’t given the right map, you’re eventually going to end up in the wrong place in life and/or business.

And we see the proof of this all around us.

This begs the question…

So how do you know what the right strategy, information, tools, and resources are? 

• First, it has to be reliably shown to produce the results you’re looking for consistently, and it has to be tested, applied, and proven out in the real world (like a good recipe). 
• Next it has to be practical, simple, relevant, and impactful. It has to be something you can take action on and produce predictable, real, measurable results.
• And lastly, it’s easily available, conveniently accessible, and constantly being improved and revised, so that as you face new challenges and situations, it’s right there waiting and ready for you to apply.

Based on this rigid criteria, I think you’ll agree, there’s not a lot of “good information” out there.

But even if you do find it, remember it’s not enough in and of itself. 

You need two more things, which leads us to the next piece of the puzzle.

Having a great coach is a game-changer in almost every endeavor in life.

Think about it. Have you ever seen a successful athlete without a coach?

No.

Because even as good as an athlete may be, they still need the outside opinion, feedback, help, and accountability from a proven expert.
